Virtual Workshop: Surreal Collages

Create your own surreal collage using magazine images, patterned paper and newspaper! Instructor Jackie Meier will lead this workshop and introduce collage artists Hannah Höch and Joseph Cornell for inspiration.

PelhamCouchFest

Residents are invited to rock out or chill out from the comfort of their own couches while raising money for local nonprofits during Pelham’s first-ever live virtual concert featuring many of the community’s favorite musicians.

Virtual concert-goers will be able to donate directly from pelhamcouchfest.com and can direct funds to the nonprofit of their choice. Beneficiaries include: Pelham Together, Junior League of Pelham, The Picture House, Friends of the Pelham Library, Pelham Art Center, Bartow-Pell, Pelham Children’s Center, and County Harvest. Pelham Farmer’s Market: Spooktacular Sunday

The last market of the season features includes American Pride Seafood, Flour Power, Little Bird Cookie Company, Nicosia Bronx Bread, R&R Farms, Picklelicious, Arlotta Food Studio, Double Rainbow Pelham, Beau & Co. Bracelets, Freshly Made Juices (look out for some Halloween concoctions), Provisions, Halloween pumpkins/crafts from our Pelham Children’s Center, Lulu’s Taco Truck for lunch, and more.

Kids (of all ages) are encouraged to come in costume 🦸‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧟‍♀️ for some treats.

Pelham Farmer’s Market

The Pelham Chamber of Commerce hosts a Pelham Farmer’s Market in the parking lot of Buddha Booths. The socially-distanced market will feature some favorite local businesses with food, gifts and more. Line up includes Westchester Burger Company. Dobbs Ferry Lobster Guys. Thrive Barre & Fitness, Pelicones (ice cream), Double Rainbow Ice Cream (coffee and donuts), Pickle Licious, Little Bird Cookie Company and Flour Power (Pelham’s new business coming this Fall to Four Corners shopping center).

Songs For Seeds Music Class

Join a fun, interactive music class that combines movement and educational elements. iHear music from different regions and be exposed to a variety of rhythmic patterns. For ages 0-5. Space is limited; first come, first served.

Musical Adventures With Concordia Conservatory

Musicians from the Concordia Conservatory play music and read Caldecott Winners and other favorites such as Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackall, They All Saw A Cat by Brendan Wenzel and Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young. For ages 3-13.

Make Flower Thermometer Magnets

Make thermometers that teach children about temperature and look pretty on your fridge.

Puppet Playtime

Pelham Library presents a high-energy, interactive puppet show for ages 2-5 years old. First come, first served.

Victorian Valentine Workshop

Take a cue from the history valentines and printed “scraps” used to make valentine cards in the 19th century and craft a memorable handmade card in a historic mansion. A fun workshop for the whole family. Online registration required.

Pelham Troop 1 Pancake Breakfast

Join the Scouts of Pelham Troop 1 for pancakes and sausage. Proceeds support the Scouts attending camp at Florida Sea Base next summer.

2020 Pelham Little League Registration

The final 2020 Pelham Little League registration will take place at Daronco Town House ( 20 Fifth Av ) on Saturday February 8th  9am – Noon  For more information please see https://pelhamlittleleague.org (go to the forms tab for the registration form and for the REC dept hold harmless agreement. 2020 JLP Provisional Class MLK Jr. Service Event

For the third consecutive year, Junior League of Pelham’s provisional class will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day Service Event.

In continuing to reinforce the vision that MLK Jr. Day is “not just a day off, but a day of service,” the event will provide on-site opportunities for kids and adults of all ages to participate in a variety of service-driven activities to directly benefit kids in need. This year’s beneficiaries include Bella’s Birthday Box, My Sister’s Place, and Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. MLK Jr. education-themed activities will also be offered on-site, along with additional local nonprofit organizations to present future volunteer opportunities.

Attendees are welcome to donate birthday-themed party essentials and activity kit items such as coloring books, crayons and markers for on-site activity stations.

“Pelham Art Center: 50 Years”

Pelham Art Center will hold an Opening Reception Friday, January 24th, 6:00-8:00PM that is free and open to the public.

Attendees can interact with the exhibition by sharing their own written reflections and mementos in the Pelham Art Center Legacy Book.

Pelham Art Center presents “Pelham Art Center: 50 Years” (January 24-April 4, 2020), a historical gallery exhibition covering the fifty-year legacy of the organization as a grassroots non-profit and local arts institution. The exhibition is organized as a visual timeline encompassing the origins of the Art Center, its major milestones, and art highlights from gallery shows over the years. Viewers of all ages can explore five decades of archival materials, photographs, and art from private collections of individuals instrumental to the founding, success, and development of the Pelham Art Center. The timeline culminates in a reflection on the present-day Pelham Art Center, which now serves over 16,000 area residents.

The Nutcracker Magical Matinee

Ballerinas in costume greet attendees  and present a live dance performance before a screening of the cinematic version of the New York City Ballet’s classic Nutcracker with George Balanchine’s iconic choreography.

Pelham Christmas Tree Lighting, Santa & Party

Santa will be at the Pelham Gazebo starting at 4:00pm to welcome children (bring your own camera). Characters from “Frozen,” face painting and balloon making will be part of the party on the Town Green.
